Biography

Natasha Kanapé Fontaine is a multidisciplinary Innu artist. She contributed to half a dozen film and TV productions, notably the hit TV series Unité 9 (Radio-Canada), as her character Eyota Standing Bear has garnered critical and public praises, and her short film We Will Rise (Wapikoni Mobile), which she wrote and directed, won the Direction Award for Short Film at the New York Plural + Festival. Her poetry books Don't Enter in My Soul with your Shoes and Blueberries & Apricots (Mémoires d'encrier), have both been translated and published in English by Mawenzi House (Toronto).
