Biography

Pascal Plante is a Quebec-based director, screenwriter, and editor from Quebec City. He first directed several short films, screened at various festivals. In 2017, he made his first feature film, Fake Tattoos, winner of the Grand Prix Focus Québec/Canada at the FNC 2017 and selected at the Berlinale 2018. This was followed in 2020 by Nadia, Butterfly, presented in the official selection of the Cannes Film Festival. Then, in 2023, he directed the thriller Red Rooms, which premiered at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival and won several awards at the Fantasia Film Festival, including Best Film and Best Screenplay. The film went on to enjoy strong international momentum: it was acquired in the United States by distributor Utopia, as well as in Spain, Taiwan, Scandinavia, Romania, and Hungary, in addition to being screened at the BFI London Film Festival and the Busan International Film Festival.
